Our New Joy, Alegria!

Category: New Stuff, Yarn Features

The Manos del Uruguay Co-operative invested a lot of time in the newest yarn, Alegría, and the result is fantastic! This hand-painted 75% superwash merino / 25% polyamide blend has a rich, cushy hand. This easy-care yarn is available in twelve exciting colorways that truly reflect the name; Alegría means “joy” in Spanish. Here is a peek at three, click here to view all the colors!

Skeins of Alegría are approximately 445 yds per 100g skein, a generous amount should you decide to work socks, babywear or an assortment of accessories! Projects are already starting to be entered into Ravelry using Alegría!

Here you can see Knit2Hell’s Wurm Hat in Atlantico and Ruthlaceknits’ Willow Cowl in Pindo; both are free patterns!

Alegría would also work well in Sunnyside by Tanis Lavallee, Wingspan by Tri’Coterie Designs, or Jeck by Regina Satta.  We are looking forward to hearing your thoughts about Alegría and seeing what you create! Please join us in our Ravelry group, on our Facebook page or Tweet us @manosyarns!
