October Mornings Sweater (2023JTB-1)

Jill Thompson Beach Collection | Fall 2023

October Mornings is a bulky, drop shoulder sweater. It features a funnel neck and is heavily textured with large cables and seed stitch. October Mornings is one of those cozy, oversized sweaters you can throw on before running out the door and still look polished. The bottom has a split hem knit in 1x1 rib.

Construction

This project is worked from the top down, both in rows and in the round. It begins by working the upper back in rows down to the underarms. Stitches for the front shoulders are picked up from the back shoulders and worked separately in rows until they are joined across the front neck, then the upper front is worked in rows down to the underarms. The front and back are joined for working the lower body in the round to the hem, then divided again to work the front and back separately for side slits. The sleeve stitches are picked up around the armhole openings and worked in the round down to the cuffs.

The cable patterns are charted.
