Visit Uruguay 2025

October 24 - November 4, 2025

$4050 USD per person, double occupancy

$4650 USD per person, single occupancy

We're so excited to plan our next visit to the warm and welcoming country of Uruguay, featuring visits to Manos del Uruguay cooperatives, sightseeing in the cities and countryside, and seemingly endless fresh and delicious meals!

The 2025 Visit Uruguay trip includes:

Our featured guest for 2025: Several workshops with Norah Gaughan at San Pedro de Timote, a peaceful historic ranch where cows, sheep, and horses roam the grasslands
New for 2025! We will be doing a daytrip to Colonia del Sacramento, where the historic city center is designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO
Visits to workshops in the countryside, to meet the artisan members/owners of the cooperatives and see yarn being dyed

Manos del Uruguay's flagship shop in Montevideo, where they sell yarn, ready-to-wear knit and woven garments, and leather goods made by local craftspeople
A guided tour of Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, to see sites both historic and modern
A stay in the seaside resort town of Punta del Este, known as "the Riviera of South America"
A stay at a countryside hotel, which previously operated as Uruguay's most historic ranch. There are a wide variety of leisure activities both indoor and outdoor, from the athletic (horseback riding!) to the relaxing (poolside knitting!)

Lunch at a winery featuring a range of wines crafted from Uruguayan grapes
A visit to an art museum that showcases the work of South American contemporary artists, including Uruguayan master sculptor Pablo Atchugarry

Along the way, we will enjoy freshly made and plentiful Uruguayan fare! Dietary restrictions will be accommodated.

Group size:

We keep our group size small - with a maximum of 23 participants - to ensure quality and individual attention. A tour guide will provide insightful information and translation help, all backed by years of experience and a deep love of homeland.

We will open a waitlist once/if the trip has all spots filled. In the event of a cancellation, we will contact the next person on the wait list and they will have 48 hours to decide to join.

A note about mobility:

• There will be some walking, mostly flat, as we visit areas of Montevideo and the Manos cooperatives

• We will be taking a private bus between stops, so you must be able to ascend and descend the bus stairs

• We will be on the bus for a couple hours at a time as we drive from destination to destination. There is a restroom on the bus, and you can stand to stretch your legs. We recommend bringing knitting, of course!

• Unfortunately, we can't accommodate wheelchairs or scooters on this trip
