Fall Pattern Round Up

There are a number of new and exciting patterns using Manos del Uruguay yarns available in the recent round of magazines. Any of these would be good for gifts as you get ready for the holiday season, or even as something special for yourself. We want to share them with you here to make certain you don't miss any of them! In the Fall 2012 issue of knit.wear, the Trapezoid Tee, designed by Sarah Wilson (aka The Sexy Knitter) uses Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend in#3029 Steel. Worked from the bottom up in one long piece and seamed together at the sides, this tee features a stunning panel of crochet-look lace at the back. Minimal shaping is used at the neckline only, making this a wonderful first garment for beginners looking to get their feet wet with a bit of lace. The Longbourn Mitts, by Danielle Chalson, are found in the highly anticipated Fall 2012 Jane Austen Knits. These romantic hand-warmers are made with Silk Blend. Found in the "Country" section of the magazine, they are the perfect extra layer for a walk in the woods to peek at the turning leaves.   If you are looking for a few quick knits, you will want to pick up the Holiday 2012 issue of Knit Simple. Boot toppers are in style this season. This cabled version, by Lori Steinberg, is embellished with a lacy edge, a bobble button closure and decorative lazy daisy and French knot embroidery. With over seventy colors of Wool Clasica to choose from, don't limit yourself to just one pair! Knit Simple has a second pattern that uses Manos del Uruguay Maxima. The Notion Bags, by Loretta Dachman, are sized to fit double points, stitch counters, tape measures and more. They are knit as one panel, then folded and finished with a zipper closure. They would be great gifts for your friends who knit or crochet, or even as teacher gifts with a few small items tucked inside! We would love to hear about your plans for Fall knitting –please get in touch in our Ravelry group, on our Facebook page, or tweet us @ManosYarns.
