Tops and Tanks in Manos del Uruguay Yarns
As spring turns into summer, do your projects shift from garments to accessories? Consider a short-sleeved sweater or tank top in a lighter-weight yarn! These warm-weather garments require less yarn, are easy to dress up or down, and are relatively quick to complete. Here are several to inspire you in Manos del Uruguay yarns.
The Caipirinha Tee by Paula Pereira is a lightweight tee with lace detailing, simply perfect for warm weather! Choose a favorite space-dyed color and two semi-solid colors of Alegria for a summery combination.
Lightweight and flowy, Gama’s loose shape and breathable fabric are perfect for warmer weather. Small textural stitches play across the fabric, showing off the delicate halo of Milo’s linen-merino fiber blend.
Vanora, designed by Susanna IC in Milo, features easy lace in a simple construction. The result is a tunic that can be worn on its own, or over a cami or t-shirt. This free pattern is published in the Spring/Summer Knitty.
Susanna IC’s collection for us (published earlier this year) also includes two tops that deserve mention here. The Cascadas Tee, in Serena, features a circular lace yoke worked from the top down. The Arequita Tunic, in Alegria, showcases a touch of lace at the front and back neck, a flattering boatneck, and side vents.
Alegria is the yarn of choice for these Ravelry knitters and their summer tops. Shown above, clockwise from top left: Jbook8191’s Breeze Racerback, Knitsmylife’s Tegna, and AebbeHandade’s Ripple Bralette.
