  • Notes
    – Cowl begins with a provisional cast-on. The color char t is worked in the rnd from the bottom up after which the piece continues in a solid color. The provisional stitches are picked up and joined to the live stitches with three needle bind-off.
    – This colorwork pattern has larger gaps between colors than in most traditional colorwork designs. Because the piece is fully lined there’s no need to be concerned with the long floats that are created. In addition, the smooth nature of the yarn is better maintained if you do not trap the wool when working the color char t. In the sample, trapping was only used when carrying the colors up the length of the cowl to periodically secure the strands behind the first stitch of the round. If you prefer, you can simply cut and rejoin each color as it is needed.
