Castel is based off a traditional Gansey sweater pattern from the 80s. Gansey sweaters were originally designed to protect fishermen from wind and water whilst out at sea. This was done by knitting 5ply yarn on small needles to create a tight, dense fabric. Castel is knit using our traditional 5ply Guernsey yarn.
