Spring 2024 Elizabeth Smith: Milo Capsule Collection
As the winter ground begins to slowly defrost, the first signs of Spring start to emerge. Colorful crocus blossoms, bright daffodil gradients and fresh foliage – all signs of a new beginning and winter’s end. This was the inspiration behind Elizabeth Smith’s mini Milo collection - 3 layering pieces all knit in the beautiful wool/linen blend from Manos del Uruguay. Each piece is created with simple knitting techniques and features floral-inspired eyelet stitch motifs and monochromatic colorblocking in different shades of Spring.
Construction
The poncho is worked in one piece from the bottom up from the lower edge to shoulder line with a lace detail on the front. At the shoulder the piece is folded in half, and the live stitches of the front and back shoulder are joined using a three needle bind-off. The remaining stitches are worked in the round to create the cowl neck.
